OUR PHILOSOPHY

Health is more than the disappearance of symptoms

Identify and eliminate root causes, strengthen self-healing.

Health often only becomes a topic when symptoms appear. You go to the doctor, describe a symptom and expect it to disappear as quickly as possible. In many situations this is right and necessary - especially in acute medicine, which saves lives and can effectively relieve symptoms.

Why does the body react this way at all?

But with chronic or recurring complaints, this perspective is often not enough. When findings remain unremarkable or therapies only help temporarily, a different question arises: Why does the body react this way at all?

This is exactly where our work begins. We are interested not only in how symptoms can be relieved, but also in which factors contributed to their development and what the body needs to find its balance again.

Health as a shared process

Health is not created in the doctor's office alone. It is shaped every day by our way of life - through nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, environment and many other influences. That is why we understand health as a shared process in which your active participation is indispensable.

The example of the warning light

A simple example illustrates this difference: If a warning light comes on in a car, no one would think of covering it with a piece of tape and considering the problem solved. The warning light points to a cause that needs to be fixed.

It is similar with people. Pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, heartburn or high blood pressure are warning signals of the body. They can often be treated effectively. For long-term health, however, it is crucial to understand why these signals arose in the first place.

Acute medicine and root-cause medicine complement each other

From our point of view, two forms of medicine therefore complement each other: Acute medicine treats acute health problems quickly and effectively, while root-cause medicine searches for and eliminates the conditions that contribute to the development or maintenance of chronic health disorders.

The body's self-healing powers

The human body also possesses an impressive ability to heal itself. Whether after an injury, an infection or a broken bone - repair and adaptation processes are constantly running, securing our survival for millennia.

The task of cause-oriented medicine is therefore not to replace the body, but to support it in using these natural abilities as optimally as possible.

What our body is made for

Our organism is still genetically adapted to living conditions that applied for most of human history: natural food, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, social community, recovery phases and a natural day-night rhythm.

Our current way of life differs fundamentally from this. Processed foods, lack of exercise, sleep deficits, constant stress, environmental toxins, medications and numerous other burdens affect our body every day. At the same time, we are getting older than previous generations, but suffer more and more frequently from chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or cancer.

Fundamental dysfunctions as the starting point

We see this above all as a consequence of fundamental functional disorders, for example in the area of nutrient supply, gut health, the hormonal and immune systems, or through environmental burdens and individual intolerances. Such disorders can impair the energy supply of the body's cells and thus promote the development of chronic complaints.

The fact that chronic diseases have increased sharply in recent decades can hardly be explained by our genes - they only change over very long periods of time. What has changed much faster are our living and environmental conditions.

The human being is not a technical system that can be kept permanently in order through occasional checks. It constantly reacts to its environment and tries to compensate for burdens. Health therefore does not arise from diagnostics or therapy alone, but above all from understanding these connections.

We understand our work as root-cause medicine

That is exactly why we understand our work as root-cause medicine. It does not see itself as an opposite to conventional medicine, but as a meaningful extension. In addition to the question "What can be done about it?", we always also ask: "Why did it arise, what maintains the complaints, and what needs to happen so that the body's (incredible) self-healing mechanisms can be used successfully again?"

Who this path is suitable for

This approach is not suitable for everyone. Those who are exclusively looking for a quick treatment of individual symptoms may not find what they expect with us. However, those who want to understand why complaints arose and how their causes can be influenced sustainably will find a different path with us.

The foundation: a detailed medical history

The foundation for this is a detailed medical history. It helps to identify possible triggers and connections. Building on this, we jointly develop an individual treatment plan with the goal of gradually eliminating identified causes and supporting the body through lifestyle changes and targeted therapeutic measures so it can unfold its natural self-healing powers as best as possible.
